RF Microneedling in Pensacola, FL

Deeper than microneedling. Gentler than laser.

RF microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, delivering controlled heat below the skin's surface to stimulate collagen at a depth needles alone can't reach. It's used for skin laxity, deeper acne scarring, and texture. At Abound Aesthetics in Pensacola it's performed by our licensed providers. Most people need three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with 1-2 days of redness after each.

What Radiofrequency Adds

Standard microneedling works by creating microscopic channels that trigger your body's collagen response. It's effective, well-evidenced, and works well on texture, fine lines, and mild scarring.

But needles have a reach limit. Beyond a certain depth you'd be doing real damage to the surface to get there, which defeats the purpose.

RF microneedling solves that with heat. The needles carry radiofrequency energy and release it from the tips, below the surface. So instead of relying on depth alone, you're delivering controlled thermal energy into the deeper dermis while the top layer of skin stays comparatively intact.

Two things follow:

More collagen stimulation, deeper down. Heat is a stronger trigger for collagen remodeling than mechanical injury alone. That's what makes RF the better option for laxity, the crepiness along the jaw, the softness under the chin, the skin that's lost its snap.

Better on stubborn scarring. RF energy breaks up fibrous scar tissue more effectively than needle punctures alone, which is why deeper acne scars often respond when standard microneedling has plateaued.

The FDA-approved device we use is ZenTite. Check out more information here.

Why ZenTite?

Most radiofrequency microneedling devices need several passes over the same area to reach different depths of skin, one pass for the surface, another for the mid layer, another for deeper tissue. Zentite works differently. Its proprietary STEP technology releases energy in a single, controlled pulse that reaches the superficial, mid-dermal, and deeper layers all at once.

Here's why that matters for you:

.

Fewer passes, less irritation. Instead of going back over the same spot again and again, we treat it once, thoroughly, and move on. Less repetition means less inflammation and a lower chance of irritation afterward.

Every depth, one pulse. Because Zentite's stacked energy pattern treats all three layers simultaneously, you're not left with a surface that's over-treated while deeper layers are under-treated. That evenness is what gives you smoother texture, tighter skin, and real collagen stimulation, without compromise.

A more comfortable treatment. Fewer passes across your skin simply feels better. Sessions move faster and don't have that repetitive, abrasive quality older devices are known for.

Consistent, predictable results. Uniform energy delivery means the outcome isn't left to chance, smoother, tighter, healthier-looking skin, session after session.

Built with safety in mind. Single-pass, multi-depth delivery also lowers the risk of post-treatment dark spots (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) that can happen when skin is repeatedly irritated. That's especially important for clients with deeper skin tones — and one of the reasons we felt confident bringing Zentite to Pensacola for every skin type we serve.

One pulse. Every layer. Less irritation, more consistent results — that's the kind of technology decision we make on purpose.

RF Microneedling vs. Standard Microneedling

Both trigger collagen production. RF adds heat below the surface, which reaches deeper, buying you results on laxity and deeper scarring at the cost of more downtime.

Which one you actually need:

Start with standard microneedling if your concern is texture, dullness, enlarged pores, early fine lines, or mild rolling acne scars. It costs less, has less downtime, and for those concerns it does the job.

Microneedling →

Choose RF if laxity is your main complaint, if your acne scarring is deeper or hasn't responded to standard microneedling, or if you want fewer sessions and can accept more downtime.

We'll tell you which one you need at your consult and if standard microneedling will get you there, we'll say so. It's the less expensive treatment and we'd rather you have the right one.

Who's Treating You

RF microneedling at Abound Aesthetics is performed by Rebecca Trevino, Nurse Practitioner and Master Injector.

RF microneedling requires more judgment than standard microneedling. Energy settings and depth have to be matched to your skin type, the area being treated, and what we're treating for.

We're a boutique practice on purpose. You see the same faces, we track your series properly, and nobody rushes a treatment that involves heat.

Airessence PDGF - What We Add After

We apply Ariessence pure PDGF+ after RF microneedling, and this is the one place where the evidence is specific rather than extrapolated.

PDGF, platelet-derived growth factor, is one of the signalling proteins your platelets release to drive healing and collagen production. Ariessence delivers a pure, concentrated form topically, without drawing blood.

The trial: a prospective, randomized, controlled study found that applying pure PDGF after RF microneedling improved facial skin quality at 30 days more effectively than the current standard of care, with a good safety profile.

That study was done on RF microneedling specifically. Which is why we're more confident recommending it here than anywhere else on our menu and why we tell you the distinction rather than implying the evidence covers everything.

The safety point that matters more than the product: RF microneedling opens channels and heats tissue. Your skin is genuinely compromised for a short window afterward. Do not let anyone apply a random serum, and do not apply one yourself at home. Products not formulated for post-procedure use can cause reactions considerably worse than what you came in for.

What to Expect

Before: clean skin. Stop retinoids about five days ahead. Tell us about cold sores; we'll want you on an antiviral. Nothing over active infection or sunburn. Tell us if you have any implanted electronic device, RF and pacemakers or similar are not compatible.

During: topical numbing sits 30 to 45 minutes. RF microneedling needs more numbing time than standard, and we don't rush it. The treatment itself takes 30 to 45 minutes and feels like heat and pressure rather than sharpness. Some areas are warmer than others.

Immediately after: red, warm, swollen. More pronounced than standard microneedling and it will look worse than it feels. A grid pattern from the needle tips is sometimes visible for a day or two. That's normal.

Day 1-2: the most red you'll be. It is extremely minimal.

Day 3-4: settling. Some dryness and mild flaking. Makeup usually fine by 24 to 48 hours.

Weeks 4-12 : the actual result. Collagen remodeling is slow, and firmness continues improving for three to six months after your final session.

Aftercare: no strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, pools, or direct sun for 48 to 72 hours. Gentle cleanser only. Daily sunscreen without exception , heat-treated skin is more vulnerable to pigmenting, and this matters more here than after standard microneedling. No retinoids or acids for a week.

RF Microneedling in Pensacola

Book with a few genuinely quiet days after, Thursday treatments work well if your weekend is low-key.

Sun discipline decides whether it works. Heat-treated skin pigments more readily, and UV degrades the new collagen you're paying to build. On the Gulf Coast that takes more effort than it does elsewhere.

If you're spending the summer at the beach or on the water, we would honestly rather start your series in the fall. That's a real conversation we have with people, and we mean it, a series done through a Florida summer without sun discipline is money spent on results you'll lose.

Timing: allow at least two weeks before any event. We're at 100 S Baylen St E in downtown Pensacola with easy parking. Thursdays until 7.

Ready When You Are

There's a point where good skincare stops being enough. Not because you've done anything wrong, because collagen loss is structural, and no cream reaches where it's happening.

RF microneedling reaches it. Slowly, over a series, using your own biology.

What it won't do is make you look like someone else, or like a surgical result. We'll be straight with you about which category your concern falls into, and if the honest answer is that you need something we don't offer, we'll tell you that too.

Come sit with us. We'll look at your skin properly and tell you what we actually think.

FAQ

What is RF microneedling?

RF microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. The needles deliver controlled heat below the skin's surface, stimulating collagen at a depth needles alone can't reach. It's used for skin laxity, deeper acne scarring, and texture.

Is zentite the same as morpheus 8?

Both Zentite and Morpheus 8 are RF microneedling devices.  Zentite is engineered for precise, even needle placement and energy that adjusts to your skin in real time, which makes for a faster and more comfortable treatment.

What makes zentite different?

ZenTite is one of the newer radiofrequency microneedling platforms, engineered with a smart motor for precise needling, energy that adjusts to your skin in real time, and multi-layer treatment in a single pass. Abound Aesthetics is among the first to bring it to patients.

How is RF microneedling different from regular microneedling?

Standard microneedling relies on needle depth alone and works well for texture, fine lines, and mild scarring. RF microneedling adds heat below the surface, reaching deeper tissue. That makes it more effective for skin laxity and deeper scars.

How many RF microneedling sessions do I need?

Typically three, spaced four to six weeks apart. That's fewer than standard microneedling, which usually needs three to six, because each RF session delivers more stimulation.

How long is RF microneedling downtime?

Usually you have redness and warmth the day-of. Day one and two are the most noticeable. Makeup is usually fine after 24 to 48 hours.

Does RF microneedling hurt?

Topical numbing is applied for 20-25 minutes beforehand. Most people describe it as similar to standard microneedling. Our device has a vacuum tip that helps alleviate discomfort.

Does RF microneedling tighten skin?

It stimulates collagen and improves skin firmness and quality, which many people experience as tightening. It does not produce surgical results and will not lift significant sagging or jowls.

Is RF microneedling good for acne scars?

It's generally more effective than standard microneedling for deeper scarring, because radiofrequency energy breaks up fibrous scar tissue more effectively than needle punctures alone. Deep ice-pick scars still respond poorly to both.

When will I see results from RF microneedling?

Gradual improvement begins around week four. Collagen remodeling continues for three to six months after the final session, so the full result arrives well after treatment ends.

Can I get RF microneedling in the summer in Florida?

It's possible with strict sun discipline, but heat-treated skin pigments more readily and UV degrades new collagen. If you're spending the season outdoors, starting the series in the fall will give you a better result.

How much does RF microneedling cost in Pensacola?

RF microneedling is priced per session and costs more than standard microneedling, though fewer sessions are typically needed. We quote it at your complimentary consultation.
